New Video Websites We have launched a new video website that highlights Maharishi Vastu design and construction, www.VastuTV.com. Our You Tube and Facebook pages have also been updated and expanded to attract more people to Maharishi Vastu services. All the videos on VastuTV.com are linked directly to the YouTube site, www.youtube.com/user/VastuArchitecture . As You Tube in particular has become a very important site for information, we have added many short videos to bring more attention to the precious knowledge of Maharishi Vastu. Currently, there are new segments illustrating the main principles of Maharishi Vastu architecture, as well as excerpts from a radio show that featured Jon Lipman. These audio clips focus on the differences between Feng Shui and Vastu. They give a very clear picture of the depth of Vastu knowledge. The latest video is an interview by freshman students of Maharishi University of Management, USA featuring Jon Lipman. Works in progress include a video on Vastu school buildings around the world, experiences of employees working in a Maharishi Vastu office, and a tour of a newly constructed green, Vastu home in upstate NY. If you have never visited these websites, you will find many engaging and inspiring videos ranging from talks by Maharishi on Vastu to photo galleries of homes to developers talking about their experiences of building Vastu. You can help to increase our popularity by going to either website, www.VastuTV.com or www.youtube.com/user/VastuArchitecture to view the videos. Be sure to share the sites with friends and colleagues as they will inspire a lot of new attention to Vastu.
Vastu Makes News in Lebanon Our warm congratulations to Salim Haddad, deputy National Director and Vastu Coordinator for Lebanon, for placing the first article on Maharishi Vastu architecture in an Arabic language newspaper published on the 30th of August in the popular national daily paper, Sad El-badad. The article has generated inquiries from architects and builders. One of the architects expressed interest in taking courses in Maharishi Vastu design. This positive feedback has encouraged Salim to do further articles on Vastu, and he is starting to translate our main Maharishi Vastu website into Arabic. Update: the second article has just been published: Monday, 11 October, 2010—on the importance of Maharishi Vastu Principles in building our homes, villages, cities, and the whole country. You may read and download the article and see the photos in Arabic at this link: http://alishraq.net/balad/vastu2.pdf. Vastu through Childrens’ Eyes Our weekly Maharishi Vastu blog will focus on the experiences people have of living and working in Vastu. The first article will feature children and their expressions of living or studying in Vastu. Here is a short excerpt. Do you notice any difference between a Maharishi Vastu house and a non-Vastu building? “Oh yeah! When I’m in a Vastu building I feel orderly and have a complete layout of my surroundings. I feel settled and calm. When I’m in non-Vastu it feels more chaotic. It’s a bit like standing in the middle of a busy street as opposed to a quiet forest. Strangely, non-Vastu also manages to feel more closed up, and I get much more hyper. “When I go into a Vastu house I immediately feel like my mind is clearer. I can find everything much better as well as being able to study better. In non-Vastu houses I never seem to get rest, during the day or night.” Our son was really the impetus for building our second Vastu home. We relocated to New York from North Carolina and lived in a lovely east facing home in a beautiful area of upstate New York. After a few months, our son, who had just turned 7 said to me, “I like this house but I don’t feel safe like I did in our Vastu home in NC. I want another Vastu home here. Now that we have accomplished his desire, and he is 10, he says he can concentrate on his school projects easily now, and feels he wants to accomplish whatever he needs to do. He doesn’t feel distracted. If your children have any experiences to share, we would love to hear them. Please email us at: info@maharishivastu.org New England Vastu home goes An important component of Maharishi Vastu architecture is building sustainably with natural, non-toxic materials suitable to the local climatic conditions. This includes using materials such as wood, brick, rammed earth and adobe, as well as natural finishes such as clay stucco, marble, ceramic tile, natural fiber for carpets, curtains and furniture, and healthy, natural, non-toxic paints and glues. In Branford, CT a Maharishi Vastu home was recently completed by Richard and Gail Dalby that illustrates this principle beautifully. The home features carefully selected interior finishes such as: sustainable forestry maple flooring, non-toxic paints, furnishings sourced from eco responsible companies, and cotton batting insulation. The exterior is cedar clapboard and shingles, with solar Photovoltaic panels and geothermal for heating and cooling.
